Aardman and Pokémon Team Up for Exciting 2027 Project

The Pokémon Company International has announced an exciting collaboration with renowned independent studio Aardman, the creators behind Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep. This unexpected partnership, revealed alongside a visual and teaser video, hints at a unique project slated for 2027. While specific details remain under wraps, fans can expect more information to emerge in the future.

This isn’t Pokémon’s first foray into stop-motion animation. In December 2023, Netflix premiered Pokémon Concierge, a charming stop-motion series brought to life by dwarf studios, known for their work on Rilakkuma and Kaoru. The debut featured four episodes, with more currently in production.

Meanwhile, Netflix continues its journey with the Pokémon franchise, as the second season of Pokémon Horizons: The Series, titled The Search for Laqua, is set to premiere on February 7, 2025. The series had a staggered release schedule in the U.S., debuting its first part in March 2024 and subsequent parts throughout the year.

The Pokémon Company International also launched a new YouTube channel for streaming English-dubbed episodes of Pokémon anime in December 2024. This channel replaces the discontinued Pokémon TV app, allowing fans to enjoy classic and recent episodes.

With Aardman’s distinctive storytelling and artistic flair joining forces with the Pokémon universe, this collaboration promises to be a delightful addition to Pokémon’s expansive legacy. Fans have much to look forward to in 2027 and beyond!
