Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc Set to Premiere in April with a Haunting New Mystery

The highly anticipated Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc is set to make its debut on April 5, airing on Tokyo MX, BS11, Gunma TV, and Tochigi TV, with simultaneous streaming on ABEMA. Additional broadcasts will follow on MBS in the early hours of April 6, with wider streaming availability in Japan beginning April 8. Before the official release, fans will have the chance to experience an exclusive advance screening at United Cinemas Aqua City Odaiba in Tokyo on March 23.

This new installment takes Sebastian Michaelis and Ciel Phantomhive to Germany, where they are tasked by the queen with investigating a chilling series of unexplained deaths. Their search leads them to the infamous Werewolf Forest, a place shrouded in terrifying legends, where those who dare to enter face an inescapable curse. As they delve deeper into the mystery, sinister forces threaten to ensnare them in a fate darker than they could have imagined.

Returning to reprise their iconic roles are Daisuke Ono as the enigmatic butler Sebastian and Maaya Sakamoto as the cunning Ciel. Joining them are Rie Kugimiya as Sieglinde Sullivan and Chikahiro Kobayashi as Wolfram. The series is helmed by director Kenjirō Okada, with Hiroyuki Yoshino overseeing the script, Yumi Shimizu handling character designs, and Ryo Kawasaki composing the score.

The anime’s opening theme, Maisie, is a collaboration between rock band Cö shu Nie and renowned musician HYDE, while the ending theme, Waltz, is performed by the seven-member group Ryūgūjō, produced by Avu-chan of Queen Bee. Crunchyroll will be streaming the series for fans worldwide, ensuring viewers across different regions won’t miss out on the thrilling new arc.

Fans attending AnimeJapan 2025 on March 23 will also have the opportunity to see the Black Butler cast take the stage for a special panel event. With its eerie atmosphere, captivating storytelling, and returning beloved characters, Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc promises to be another unforgettable chapter in the series.
