"Jujutsu Kaisen" Manga Set to Conclude: A Monumental Journey Nears Its End

Fans of Jujutsu Kaisen have been met with bittersweet news as the official X (formerly Twitter) account for Gege Akutami's popular manga announced that the series will wrap up in just five more chapters. The final chapter is slated for release in the 44th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on September 30.

This announcement was also highlighted during Shueisha's "Jump Press" livestream, signaling the imminent conclusion of a series that has captivated readers since its debut in March 2018.

The journey of Jujutsu Kaisen has been remarkable, with Shueisha publishing the manga's 27th compiled volume on July 5. For international fans, Viz Media has been making the series available both digitally and in print, while Shueisha has been offering it digitally through its MANGA Plus service.

Hints of the manga's approaching end surfaced last December during the Jump Festa '24 event. Akutami hinted in a handwritten note that this would likely be the last Jump Festa where Jujutsu Kaisen would still be serialized, confirming fan suspicions that the story would conclude this year.

Jujutsu Kaisen has also made a significant impact in the anime world. The first anime adaptation premiered in October 2020, spanning 24 episodes. Following that, the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 anime film hit Japanese theaters in December 2021 and made its way to the U.S. and Canada with both English subtitles and dubbing in March 2022.

The anime's second season, which premiered in July 2023, was a continuous half-year run, captivating audiences worldwide. Streaming giant Crunchyroll aired the season concurrently with Japan, and an English dub is also available. Looking ahead, the anime will continue with a sequel that will adapt the "Culling Game" arc from the manga, with MAPPA continuing its role in production.

As Jujutsu Kaisen approaches its conclusion, fans are both eagerly anticipating and dreading the final chapters, knowing that one of modern manga's most beloved stories is nearing its end.
