Kid Cudi's 'Slime': A New Animated Movie Blending Horror, Trippy Visuals, and Sonic Innovation

In the world of animation, a new venture is brewing—a groundbreaking project titled "Slime," spearheaded by the creative vision of Kid Cudi, set to combine chilling horror, futuristic aesthetics, and trippy visuals. The animated feature will mark the directorial debut of animator Jeron Braxton and boasts a script penned by Brian Ash, known for his work on acclaimed shows like The Boondocks and Black Dynamite: The Animated Series.

Under Kid Cudi's Mad Solar production banner in collaboration with Hammerstone Studios and Capstone Global, "Slime" promises to redefine the animated genre. The story unfolds in a dystopian future where Muna, an optimistic yet financially strapped young woman, unwittingly becomes a host to a mysterious creature's slime during a medical trial. As her reality twists into terrifying visions and uncontrollable powers, she embarks on a desperate quest for survival alongside Glenn, portrayed by Kid Cudi.

The narrative delves into a dark odyssey, questioning whether Muna will evolve into a monstrous force, a potential savior, or something in between. Braxton's distinct style will blend with a captivating soundtrack, aiming to create an immersive audio-visual experience.

Expressing his excitement, Kid Cudi emphasized the project's ambition to push creative boundaries, praising Braxton's innovative prowess and readiness to breathe life into "Slime."

Braxton, an acclaimed animator known for his Sundance-featured works and Adult Swim series "Baby Demon," sees "Slime" as an opportunity to elevate animation and address societal issues, particularly within the Black diaspora.

The production team includes industry talents such as Karina Manashil, Dennis Cummings, Aaron Bergman, Alex Lebovici, and Jon Oakes, while Christian Mercuri, Courtney Chenn, Waylin Lin, and Brian Ash serve as executive producers.

Kid Cudi, an Emmy nominee for his animated series "Entergalactic," continues to expand his creative horizon, recently starring in John Woo's "Silent Night" and A24's "X." Meanwhile, Jeron Braxton's creative journey has seen collaborations with prestigious artists and fashion icons.

Ash, a Peabody Award-winning writer, brings his storytelling prowess from acclaimed shows to contribute to the script for "Slime."
