My Hero Academia Unveils Fourth Movie with Thrilling New Trailer

On Wednesday, TOHO International released an English-subtitled trailer for "My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: You're Next," the fourth installment in the popular My Hero Academia anime franchise. The trailer features the theme song "Homunculus" by Vaundy, adding to the excitement surrounding the upcoming film.

Set to debut in Japan on Friday, the film will also be available in IMAX, MX4D, 4DX, and Dolby Cinema formats on the same day. Fans in the United States won't have to wait long, as TOHO International plans to release the movie in U.S. theaters on October 11, offering both English subtitles and dubbed versions.

The film introduces new villain characters who are part of a notorious criminal organization called the "Gorrini Family." Directed by Tensai Okamura (known for "Darker than Black"), the movie brings back familiar faces from the television series and previous films, including scriptwriter Yōsuke Kuroda, character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi, and composer Yuki Hayashi. Kōhei Horikoshi, the creator of the original manga, is serving as the general supervisor and original character designer for the film.

Set in a society on the brink of collapse due to war, the film presents an original story that aligns with the current events in the TV anime. A mysterious giant fortress and a man resembling the former "Symbol of Peace" emerge in this chaotic world, adding layers of intrigue to the narrative.

This latest movie follows three previous My Hero Academia films. "My Hero Academia: Two Heroes" premiered in Japan in July 2018, followed by "My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising" in December 2019. The third film, "My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: World Heroes' Mission," opened in Japan in August 2021 and in the U.S. in October 2021, eventually earning over $10 million.

The anime series continues to captivate audiences, with its seventh season debuting on April 6. This season began with a four-episode special titled "My Hero Academia Memories" and continued with the main storyline starting on May 4. Crunchyroll is streaming the series, including an English dub, ensuring fans worldwide can stay up-to-date with their favorite heroes' adventures.
