Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Naruto Crossover Comic Smashes Records, Heads for a Second Printing

IDW Publishing and Viz Media’s ambitious crossover, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Naruto, is proving to be a massive hit, with the first issue selling out at the distributor level after receiving over 100,000 orders. In response, IDW has announced a second printing of the debut issue, set to release on March 12, with a pre-order deadline of February 3.

The second printing will feature a brand-new cover by artist Jorge Corona, with a striking black-and-white variant available as a special 1:10 ratio incentive for retailers.

Writer Caleb Goellner expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support, sharing his excitement about the milestone. Reflecting on meeting fans from both the Naruto and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fandoms, he promised more action, friendship, and incredible artwork from Hendry Prasetya in the coming issues.

The first issue, which debuted on November 13, featured cover art by Jorge Jiménez and Hendry Prasetya, with Kim Jacinto contributing a variant. The creative team includes Goellner (Sonic the Hedgehog) as the writer, Prasetya (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) as the artist, Raúl Angulo as the colorist, and Ed Dukeshire as the letterer.

The story of this epic four-issue series kicks off when April O’Neil’s meeting with Tsunade attracts the attention of Naruto, Sasuke, and the Hidden Leaf Village team. Meanwhile, the sinister Foot Clan, led by Baxter Stockman, suspects April holds valuable information about mutation research. As tensions rise, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles join the fray, promising an unforgettable clash of ninja worlds.

The collaboration marks a major crossover for fans of both franchises, which have previously teamed up for merchandise collaborations. With the massive success of the first issue, the hype for this historic comic series shows no signs of slowing down.
