Grand Seiko Captures Winter’s Essence with New “Icefall” Hi-Beat Watches

Grand Seiko has introduced a stunning pair of Hi-Beat 1998 Revival timepieces, paying homage to winter’s beauty with dials inspired by the frozen cascades of Mount Iwate. This natural phenomenon, located near the Grand Seiko Shizukuishi Watch Studio, serves as the creative muse for the intricate “Icefall” pattern gracing the watches.

These new releases reimagine the original Grand Seiko mechanical watch from 1998, blending classic design with modern innovations. Both timepieces are powered by the in-house 9S85 caliber movement, offering an impressive 55-hour power reserve.

The SBGH347, crafted from Grand Seiko’s Ever-Brilliant Steel, features a 37mm case and a sleek matching steel bracelet. The watch is available now through Grand Seiko for $6,900 USD, making it a perfect addition to any collector’s lineup.

The SBGH349, on the other hand, utilizes High-Intensity Titanium, which is not only 30% lighter than stainless steel but also boasts superior corrosion resistance and hypoallergenic properties. With a slightly larger 40mm case and a titanium bracelet secured by a three-fold clasp, this model exudes modern elegance. It is slated for release in January 2025, priced at $7,400 USD.

Both timepieces showcase Grand Seiko’s dedication to craftsmanship and its connection to nature, making these watches a must-have for those who appreciate artistry and precision in horology.
