Nike’s New Hyperboot Is Changing the Game for Athletic Recovery
After months of anticipation, the Nike x Hyperice Hyperboot is finally making its way to retail shelves. Announced nearly a year ago, this cutting-edge footwear is the result of a collaboration aimed at redefining how athletes approach both warmup and recovery—whether they're gearing up for competition or winding down after intense physical activity.
The Hyperboot is unlike anything Nike has released before. It takes the muscle-soothing compression technology found in Hyperice’s popular Normatec boots and reimagines it in a sleek, wearable high-top design. But this isn’t just a portable version of recovery gear—it’s an all-in-one tool that prepares your body before and restores it after performance. In addition to dynamic air compression, the Hyperboot integrates HyperHeat technology, allowing users to apply heat therapy at the touch of a button. These features are activated via discreet controls on the midsole heel, making them intuitive and accessible.
Nike’s focus on athlete feedback played a key role in shaping this product. According to Tobie Hatfield, senior director of athlete innovation at Nike, the concept of "pre-covery"—preparing the body for action—is just as critical as recovery. The Hyperboot is designed to support that full arc of activity.
Slated for release on May 17 across North America through Nike.com, Hyperice.com, and select stores, the Hyperboot will retail at $899. A global rollout is expected later this year, marking what could be the beginning of a new standard in mobile athletic care.
