Patta and Tommy Hilfiger Reunite for 90s NYC Hip-Hop Collab
Patta and Tommy Hilfiger worked together last year to commemorate Black unity. They've returned this year with a capsule collection paying homage to the great poetic talent that emerged from New York City in the '90s. Wu-Tang Clan, Mobb Deep, Mase, Biggie, and many others got their start there. Patta and Tommy Hilfiger are using this to pay homage to their early days in streetwear.
The two veterans shot a music video with Wiki, MIKE, and The Alchemist with the help of director Nicholas Stafford Briggs and lifestyle photographer Quil Lemons. An original song co-written by Wiki and MIKE for this release is included in the music video, shot in NYC. In addition to the clothes, this song will be released on a 12" vinyl record.
The aforementioned collection of garments includes a wide range of '90s-inspired options. We're talking about Tommy Hilfiger staples like the varsity jacket, with a "1993" date and dual branding in a preppy color palette of navy and yellow; branded tees and sweaters with a college vibe; and even a Patta spin on the yellow, red, and blue Tommy Sports jacket.
The logos and aesthetics are spot on, and the cuts and colors easily evoke everyone’s '90s nostalgia. Athletic-themed motifs are found on both forest green hoodies and basic white t-shirts. Green t-shirts feature a unified world map and flags on the back, while other quarter-zips feature collegiate logos.
Starting on December 2, 2022, you can shop the Patta x Tommy collection online at pattaxtommy.com and in-store at Patta Chapter. Some retailers will begin stocking it on December 9. Patta and Tommy will also be opening a pop-up shop on December 2 and 3 at 53B Stanton Street in New York City.
