Rihanna Returns as the Face of Dior's Iconic J'Adore Perfume

Rihanna is back, and this time she's the face of Dior’s iconic J’Adore perfume. WWD broke the news on Tuesday, confirming rumors that have been circulating for months. The clues were there: Rihanna attended Dior’s Fall 2022 ready-to-wear show in March 2022 and their Spring 2024 haute couture show in January 2024. She doesn’t make appearances at just any fashion show, indicating a deeper connection with the brand.

Expressing her excitement, Rihanna stated, "The scent, that I have known and loved for so long, means so much to women. I am especially looking forward to joining this adventure and contributing to it through my world, my story, my roots, as well as my creativity and my own femininity."

Dior’s CEO, Véronique Courtois, emphasized the natural fit, saying, "The choice of Rihanna to be the next face of J’Adore was obvious for us. Not only is she one of the greatest and most powerful artists of all times, she is also multitalented, a successful entrepreneur, a committed humanitarian, a mother of two and a singular beauty."

Rihanna made history in 2015 as the first Black celebrity to become a Dior brand ambassador, during Raf Simons’ era. She expressed to MTV at the time, "It feels fantastic. It is such a big deal for me, for my culture, for a lot of young girls of any color. I think, to be acknowledged by Dior is just... it means a lot as a woman to feel beautiful, and elegant, and timeless."

The first ad featuring Rihanna will debut in September, photographed by Steven Klein, echoing her initial campaign for Dior’s "Secret Garden" series. Stay tuned for what promises to be an unforgettable collaboration.
