Hisense Elevates Ultra-Short-Throw Projectors with the L9Q at CES 2025
After a brief hiatus, Hisense has returned to the ultra-short-throw projector market with the announcement of its new L9Q model at CES 2025. Following the success of the Laser Cinema series, the L9Q introduces significant upgrades and an impressive range of options, catering to both casual viewers and home theater enthusiasts alike.
The L9Q projector offers unparalleled versatility with support for screen sizes ranging from 100 to 150 inches. Available in five Ambient Light Rejecting (ALR) screen packages—100, 110, 120, 136, and 150 inches—it surpasses the size options of its predecessor, the L9H, which was limited to 100- and 120-inch screens. This model also features a dramatically improved throw ratio, shrinking from 0.25:1 to 0.18:1, allowing the projector to sit closer to the wall for larger screen setups. Enhancements like a motorized focus system, automatic screen alignment, and dedicated settings for various screen sizes ensure a seamless installation experience.
The new TriChroma RGB laser light engine delivers a 33% increase in brightness, reaching 4,000 lumens, compared to the 3,000 lumens of the previous model. This boost, combined with a 3,000:1 native contrast ratio, promises vivid imagery, even in rooms with moderate ambient light. Furthermore, the L9Q covers an impressive 110% of the BT.2020 color space, offering exceptional color accuracy and future-proofing for evolving content standards.
A built-in Harman Kardon 6.2.2 audio system, now upgraded to 116 watts, complements the stunning visuals. The L9Q also integrates Google TV, streamlining access to apps and content.
Wrapped in a sleek, angular design with a metallic front grille, the L9Q balances aesthetics and functionality. This projector solidifies Hisense's position as a leader in the ultra-short-throw market, setting new standards for performance and design. With these advancements, the L9Q is poised to redefine the home theater experience.
