Disney+ Expands Anime Slate with 'The Fable,' Premiering Worldwide on April 7

Disney+ has unveiled the worldwide release date for its upcoming anime series, "The Fable." The show, based on the best-selling manga of the same name, is set to premiere on April 7, marking another significant addition to Disney's expanding library of Japanese anime. This release is part of Disney's ongoing collaboration with Kodansha, a prominent Japanese publishing company known for iconic manga titles such as AKIRA, Attack on Titan, and Ghost in the Shell.

"The Fable" revolves around the story of a legendary hitman known as "Fable," who has dedicated his life to becoming the world's top assassin. Renowned in the criminal underworld for his exceptional skills, Fable is an expert in delivering swift and precise death. However, the narrative takes an unexpected turn when, after a year of achieving record kills, the head of his crime family instructs him to lay low and abstain from killing anyone for the next year.

The hitman, now forced to adopt an ordinary life, undergoes a significant upheaval as he is relocated to Osaka and surrounded by trigger-happy criminals. To survive in this new environment, Fable must not only control his lethal instincts but also adapt to a seemingly ordinary existence.

This collaboration between Disney and Kodansha continues to leverage popular manga IPs for Disney+, showcasing the streaming service's commitment to diversifying its anime offerings. As "The Fable" gears up for its global debut, fans can anticipate an action-packed narrative with elements of suspense and a protagonist navigating the complexities of a life less ordinary.
