HBO confirms The Last of Us TV show debuts January 2023
On January 15th, 2023, HBO will premiere The Last of Us series. HBO and video game developer, Naughty Dog, made the announcement on Wednesday (Nov 2, 2022) after news of the filming date spread earlier in the week.
Sony Interactive Entertainment's PlayStation Productions has adapted its original game properties for cinema and television, with “The Last of Us” being the first show to come out of the company.
The show premieres on Sky in the United Kingdom on January 16 and on HBO Max in the United States. The events of the original game will be explored, and there is a chance that The Last of Us Part 2 content will be incorporated as well. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey will play the show's leads, Joel and Ellie. Nico Parker (Dumbo) is Thandie Newton and Gabriel Luna (Agents of Shield) is Tommy, Joel's brother; Nico plays Sarah, Joel's daughter, and Gabriel plays Tommy.
