Severance Secures Season 3 Renewal with a Promising Future
The highly anticipated Severance Season 2 finale has finally landed on Apple TV+, but fans can breathe a sigh of relief—there’s plenty more to come. Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed the show’s renewal in response to producer Ben Stiller, humorously stating that “Season 3 of Severance is available upon request.”
Despite the long three-year wait between the first and second seasons, the next installment may arrive much sooner. Speaking on Jason and Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast, Stiller reassured fans that such a lengthy delay isn’t part of the plan this time around. Production setbacks due to the 2023 Hollywood strikes contributed to the prolonged gap, but with those hurdles behind them, it seems the team is eager to move forward at a quicker pace.
For those unfamiliar, Severance is a psychological sci-fi thriller centered on Mark Scout, played by Adam Scott, who leads a team at Lumon Industries. Employees at the mysterious company undergo a controversial procedure called “severance,” which completely separates their work and personal memories. Alongside Scott, the series boasts a strong ensemble cast, including Brit Lower, Zach Cherry, Tramell Tillman, and Christopher Walken.
Reflecting the show’s eerie premise, Stiller jokingly commented that while he doesn’t remember making Season 3, he has been assured it will be an equally enjoyable experience. With its gripping storyline and ever-growing fanbase, Severancecontinues to solidify itself as one of Apple TV+’s standout original series.
