Baldur’s Gate 3, the highly acclaimed Dungeons & Dragons RPG, has been making waves since its launch on PC in August and PlayStation 5 in September. However, the Xbox Series X and S versions were notably missing from the lineup. Now, Larian Studios has confirmed that the Xbox release is imminent, set for December.

Initially, the studio faced challenges ensuring smooth co-op gameplay on the Xbox Series S. Despite this hurdle, Larian Studios, in collaboration with Microsoft, found ways to optimize the game's performance, allowing for a release on Xbox Series S, albeit without co-op support at the moment. The developer has managed to reduce RAM and VRAM loads for the digital-only Xbox console.

The official announcement of Baldur’s Gate 3's December release came via Larian Studios' statement on social media. While the specific release date remains under wraps, the developer promised more details to be unveiled at The Game Awards, set for December 7. The event, known for its world premieres and announcements, will showcase the exact release date for the Xbox versions of the game.

Baldur’s Gate 3 has received nine nominations, including Game of the Year and Best RPG, at The Game Awards 2023, hinting at an eventful showcase for the highly anticipated Xbox release. As of now, the game is available on PC and PS5, with the Xbox Series X and S launch eagerly anticipated by fans.
