Naughty Dog Unveils Its Next Epic Adventure, "Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet"

Naughty Dog, the studio behind acclaimed hits like The Last of Us, has officially announced its next ambitious project, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. The reveal came during the climactic moments of the 2024 Game Awards, serving as the grand finale before the Game of the Year award presentation.

The game’s debut trailer introduced fans to an entirely new universe, with Tati Gabrielle cast as the lead character, Jordan A. Mun. More casting details are expected in the coming months, but it’s already been revealed that music for the game will be scored by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, promising an evocative and unforgettable soundtrack.

Following the announcement, Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann shared more details in a PlayStation blog post. “We’re back!” he wrote. “You’ve been eager to hear what’s next, and I’m thrilled to finally reveal it: Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is in development for PlayStation 5, and we’ve been working on this adventure since 2020. This is shaping up to be our most daring and imaginative story yet.”

The game centers on Jordan, a bounty hunter who becomes stranded on Sempiria, a remote planet shrouded in mystery after severing communication with the universe centuries ago. Many have ventured there in search of answers, only to vanish without a trace. Jordan must navigate this treacherous world, relying on her skills and ingenuity to escape—a feat no one has achieved in over 600 years.

With its bold new direction, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet promises to deliver the kind of immersive storytelling and gameplay that fans have come to expect from Naughty Dog. The game is being developed exclusively for the PlayStation 5, and excitement is already building for what’s sure to be another unforgettable journey.
