"Arcane," the animated series based on League of Legends, took home a ton of awards

A recent post on IGN reports that the animated series "Arcane" received tons of awards and nominations.

The animated action-adventure series "Arcane: League of Legends," was created by Christian Linke and Alex Yee and is presently streaming on Netflix. This animated series is set in the universe of the popular gaming franchise "League of Legends" and is produced by French studio Fortiche with assistance from Riot Games.

The Netflix original animated series won the Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program this year, making it the first streaming show in history to take home the prestigious award. Other major studio animated series were also nominated in the same categories as "Arcane," including "Rick and Morty," "The Simpsons," and "What If...?" from Marvel.

The pilot episode premiered at the League of Legends' 10th anniversary celebration in 2019, with a wider release scheduled for November 2021. A second season, confirmed by Riot Games and Netflix, will debut sometime after 2022.

Upon its release, it was met with widespread acclaim, most of which focused on the novel's skill in establishing its universe and delivering an engaging narrative. Furthermore, many have remarked that the show's animation is among the greatest they've seen. IGN gave the show a perfect score of 10, while other review sites including IMDb rated it a 9.
