Sony introduces "InZone" and "Spatial" gaming screens and headsets
A new brand of PC gaming monitors and headsets called "InZone" was just added to the Sony product lineup. The top of the series is the $899 USD Sony Electronics "InZone M9," a 27-inch 4K monitor featuring an IPS display and full-array local dimming. The monitor offers a 144Hz refresh rate and a 1ms gray-to-gray response time. With a DCI-P3 color gamut that is 95 percent covered, it is DisplayHDR 600 certified as well.
The InZone M9's HDMI 2.1 connector and G-Sync compatibility make it ideal for gaming on a monitor with a variable refresh rate (VRR). While gaming or viewing a movie on a Sony PlayStation 5, the display automatically switches to HDR low-latency and picture processing modes.
With a price tag of $529, the "InZone M3" is a 4K display with 240Hz Full HD. Despite its lesser dynamic range, the DisplayHDR 400 certified M3 has a gray-to-gray reaction rate of 1 millisecond and is compatible with G-Sync and VRR gameplay on the PS5.
These three gaming headsets from InZone are available for a total of $299, $229 and $99 in the United States. With active noise suppression, Bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless connection, and support for spatial music, the H9 headphones have "soft fit" leather construction. It's not as comfy as imitation leather, but the H7 headphones can be worn for 40 hours (compared to the 32 hours with the H9). Using a 3.5mm headphone connector or a USB cable, you may connect the H3's cheapest headphones to your computer or PS5.
Both the InZone M9 and M3 are scheduled for release by Sony Electronics this winter. It's expected that the H9 will be available this summer, as well as the H7 and H3.
